The sailing Club i sail at is a small Friendly, family, sailing club with a small man made lake. These kind of clubs are good if you are new to the sport and want to get your self in gradually.

The Fact the lake is small means its always possibly to swim to the bank if in trouble aswell as people will always help new sailor settle in to the club and make them feel welcome.
Also if they have a training centre/section its always a good place to learn

Once you have racing down to a Tee, bigger clubs become more interesting as there will be more people to sail against, to test your skills.

Do I recognise Himley Hall sailing club in pictures? is that where you sail? i've been up there a few times for the 24hour race, it's good fun.

Well spotted :)

Sadly we're not running the 24hr or subsequent 6hr race this year, we've opted for a juniors sponsored day instead, unfortunately it's only club members + friends and family.

Next year we're planning a big multi-club event for our 40th anniversary though, so we'll be contacting local clubs nearer the time, if you're interested.

sounds good. a lot of people miss the 24hr race and were disappointed when you couldn't run it. nothing like wading out in 3˚C water at 3 in the morning to wake you up! however i'm sure trimpley will support you in whatever fundraising evernts you plan.

Alot of our member are missing it aswell! (especially the one who usually end up sailing through out the night when no one wants to get up)
Hopefully if this years pirate funday is a sucess, hopfully we could do a sponsered junoir day aswell as the 24hr race.
Fingers crossed!
